She:kon – Hello my name is Christine Cox and I am the Ata’karitáhtshera tánon Shakotiienawá:se Ohén:ton Ié:iente Health & Social Services Director for Wahta Mohawks.

I have been working for Wahta since 2013. In our busy Health and Social Department, we cover several – programs and services. Click on each department link for more information.

My responsibility is in reporting, finalizing budgets, working fluidly with finance to ensure accountability, and of course supporting my staff, and community. At times I also secure specific funding to compliment what is already offered or gaps that we have discovered. We do receive short term funding for a variety of additional concerns: staff training, emergency management, human trafficking to name a few. The most important thing to share is the fact that we begin to work on budgets and program plans in October. While you are encouraged to reach out at any time if you have ideas, concerns, identified gaps – October is a great time to reach out. Planning is important as it allows us to be proactive rather than reactive. We want to be forward thinking and consider trends – following population ages, needs, and concerns etc. Our main goal is to offer a variety of programs and services to the Wahta Mohawk community.
